Dental Cleaning Reviews
"Newton Centre Dental is as good as it gets. They have convenient early morning, evening, and weekend hours to accommodate my family's crazy schedule. The staff is warm, welcoming, nd always happy to answer my questions (and I always have many). All of the doctor's dental work is impeccable and precise and I am always comfortable while she is working. I can actually say I enjoy going to see to my dentist, they always provide an exceptional experience. I've seen a couple different hygeinists for my dental cleanings, they were both thorough and knowledgable. I've referred many friends and will continue to do so! Thanks NCD!"- D.W. / Facebook / Nov 23, 2016
"Awesome dental cleanings and thorough doc exams. Dr. Levitt is awesome, his associates are great too. Front desk happily answers my questions, super friendly staff!"- A.W. / Yelp / May 27, 2017
"My hairdresser recommended this dental office and they are fantastic. Very professional and friendly receptionist. She answered all my questions and gave me good driving directions. At my request she took the time to confirm my insurance coverage before I booked the appointment. They have state of the art equipment including digital x-ray that give you instant images. I was having hot/cold sensitivity with one of my upper teeth which they were able to show me was due to the root intruding into my sinus cavity (No cavities-yeah!.) Amy cleaned my teeth and she was great, she doubled cleaned them, first with the metal pick followed by a water pulsed cleaning. I plan to get my teeth whitened here in 2 weeks and will post a follow up. Oh-free parking in a garage too"- A.C. / Yelp / Apr 07, 2009
"Ecellent office - very clean, professional, and friendly. It was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint! I had not been to the dentist in a few years so I was prepared for a tongue-lashing but instead I was treated with kindness and professionalism. After full x-rays and a thorough cleaning I left with a better smile and look forward to my next visit!"- J.M. / Yelp / Apr 09, 2009
"Dr. Levitt is awesome! I went in a couple months ago for a cleaning ended up going back for some bonding and I LOVE the results! I get complimented on my smile all the time! Just wanted to say Thank You so much!"- M.R. / Google / Oct 21, 2019
The ADA (American Dental Association) recommends patients have a professional cleaning twice a year. Infants should have a visit to the dentist before they turn one and following that, our seasoned team of dentists can help you decide when your child is old enough for their next appointment. A professional dental cleaning may help you avoid cavities because it removes built-up plaque from the teeth, which is the main reason for tooth decay. A dental cleaning will also remove stains and tartar from your teeth. If you would like to freshen your breath, brighten your smile, improve your oral health, and avoid spending money on more expensive treatments, make an appointment for a professional cleaning today.
What To Expect
Your dental cleaning will start by addressing the tartar and plaque deposits on your enamel, which is hard to remove at home with just daily brushing and flossing. Advanced tools are used to scale buildup without affecting the enamel. To start, a device with ultrasonic technology loosens large areas of plaque and tartar with a lubricating mist and high-speed vibrations. Next, a fine handheld instrument, such as a scaler or curette, will remove the remaining pieces. Every tooth will be scaled to remove all the buildup. After your teeth are clean, they will be carefully polished to strengthen the enamel and remove stains. If requested or needed, a professional fluoride treatment may be done following your cleaning.
We may recommend cleanings more often if you have other oral health concerns, such as periodontal disease. Throughout your treatment, our team will help you come up with a home routine for good oral health by recommending dental products and demonstrating techniques that can focus on your needs. These are great for your teeth, wallet, and overall health so be sure to attend your dental appointments at Newton Centre Dental.
A professional cleaning is a preventive treatment so it's typically covered by insurance. A member of our office can talk to your dental insurance to understand your coverage before we bill for any remaining amount. If you don't have insurance, you can talk to our financial coordinator about payments we accept and low-interest medical financing.
